Cecilia Bahena
Cecilia Bahena was born in Santa Maria, California and moved to Hawaii in 1977. She developed her artistic ambitions at an early age, and throughout her grade school years she continued to grow as an artist. She attended the Foss School of Fine art in Honolulu where she developed her mastery of color and also studied with many well know artists such as Daniel Green.
Bahena began instructing art in 1990's to adults and children as well as teaching workshops and giving demonstrations. She is well known for her work with at-risk youth, disabled children and the elderly. She

"Lahaina Harbor - Maui," Oil on Canvas, 18x24 | is certified by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as an art educator for teachers.
Bahena's subjects range from portraits to plein air landscapes. She is a member of the Plein Air Painters of Hawaii. Her paintings capture the natural beauty of her subjects with illuminating color and realistic rendering. Her work is inspired by nature, human emotions and ancient wisdom. She works in a broad range of mediums from traditional oils and pastels to the integration of images and handmade/painted papers in her collage pieces.
Cecilia's work is included in many private collections around the country and is currently exhibiting her work at the San Luis Obispo Art Center in California and Gallery DeForest in Ashland, Oregon. On the island of Maui she displays her art at Maui Hands, Hui Noeau Visual Arts Center, Kea Lani Resort, Lahaina Arts Society and Haleakala Trading Company.
