 Jordanne Weinstein
I wasn't happy with my nine to five graphic design job so I decided to stay in Lana'i, Hawaii and create a new life." Since pulling her bag off the conveyor belt at the local airport in February 2002, Jordanne has been creating original plein-air artwork for everyone that shares her passion and vision of the beautiful island of Lana'i. These past years painting en-plein-air in Lana'i have been incredibly important in nurturing her sense of courage, strength, and inner creativity that is part of her artistic soul. In 2007, Jordanne opened a successful Studio/Gallery in this incredibly small island of 3000 people. Jordanne saved a historic 1930's gas station from being torn down by renovating the inside for her Studio/Gallery, and then painting a building wide mural that depicts an artist's journey from Lana'i City, through the old pineapple fields to the ocean at Manele Bay. When she is not painting around the island or in her Studio/Gallery greeting visitors, she can be found showcasing her work at the two Lana'i Four Seasons Resorts, Lana'i At Manele Bay

Before coming to Lana'i, Jordanne interned with Milton Glaser (creator of I LOVE NY logo) in New York City, and studied with Maestro Silvano Campeggi (illustrator of movie posters such as GiGi, Gone With The Wind and Casablanca,) in Florence, Italy. She graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from The College of Saint Rose, one of the top ten nationally accredited schools for Graphic Design. Now, her home is on Lana'i, painting and creating new pieces of work to capture this islands unique beauty and captivating history.
Jordanne is now working with Japanese Sumi Ink and one Japanese brush to create quick plein-air watercolor paintings. This watercolor series is a wonderful journey of the landscapes and the soothing pace of life on this small island. Her new period of oils are filled with color and mood which fills the viewer with a captured memory of Lana'i. If you find yourself in Lana'i, make sure you come and meet Jordanne and visit her at Jordanne Fine Art Studio Gallery and Mural in person at 850 Fraser Avenue, Lana'i City or online at www.jordannefineart.com.
