Shawn Hair
I began painting in the 70's and worked for many years in Seattle where I received many commissions from restaurants such as: The Palomino, Cutters, Kincaids, and the Mitzel chain. But Seattle didn't have enough sun for me so I moved to Hawaii in 1999 and began to paint the beautiful landscapes drenched in sun.
My works can be found in:

About My Paintings
There is some underlying inexpressible "something" about being alive, some choose poetry, music, dance or sculpture to try and communicate this "something," I choose painting.
It is the quality of light that makes a painting look real to me. My paintings are an intimate reaction to life. Somewhere it was said that the greatest pleasure the senses could provide was through the eye. I don't know if that is true, but it certainly captured me in its grip. I'm essentially self-taught although I did study with William Cumming in Seattle and have learned a lot from watching demos by Sergei Bongart, William Reese and Ron Lucas.
