 Matt Montagne
Matt and Judy have had a residence on their Haiku, Maui palm tree farm since 1993. Their careers have been dedicated to working with children, with Matt’s turning to professional art in the past five years. Prior to that, for many years they were the Co-Directors of world renown Teton Valley Ranch Camp for boys and girls in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where they thrived on sharing their thrill and joy for the mountains and outdoors with young people.
This love for the outdoors translated into painting and sculpting when Matt was able to pursue art full time since 2001 while

In addition to learning, growing and being inspired by his Hawaii painting friends such as Jack Hamilton and others, he has studied with painters T. Allen Lawson, Skip Whitcomb, Kathy Wipfler, Greg McHuron and Jim Wilcox, inventor of the Soltek easel, and sculptor Rib Caswell. Matt grew up next door to renown western painter Conrad Schweiring, where, as a young boy, he watched Connie paint the Teton Mountain Range in Wyoming.
Matt has painted while traveling not only in the US, but in Japan, Korea and several countries in Europe.

"Elk and Mount Moran," Oil, 12x16 | His bronze bison sculpture, “Majestic Wanderer” was chosen and presented as the official “Sister-City” gift from Jackson Hole to Lienz, Austria in 2005.
In addition to his paintings, Matt has a number of sculptures underway and has been seen out “plein air sculpting.”

1987 - Inspired into painting while viewing the “Top 100” of the first annual national “Arts For The Parks” Contest in Jackson, Wyoming
