Ronaldo Macedo
Ronaldo was born in 1965, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At age 9 Ronaldo was displaying his drawings and sketches in cafes around his hometown of Rio. Ronaldo arrived on the California shores in 1981. Ronaldo attended California State University Long Beach earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration. During his college years Ronaldo was a self taught sign painter, free lance graphic designer and plein air painter. During and after college Ronaldo traveled to Costa Rica, Chile, Norway, Turkey, Fiji and throughout he United States including the depths of the Grand Canyon guiding river trips and filling sketchbooks and canvases during his travels. From 1990 to 1994 Ronaldo made Maui his winter home. In 1994 Ronaldo joined “Lahaina Galleries” becoming a full time Hawaii resident. Today Ronaldo lives in Lahaina with his wife Jennifer and their two kids, Summer and Ocean and is represented exclusively by Lahaina Galleries. Whether on Maui or on his travels, Ronaldo is committed to capturing our ever-changing landscape in its natural light.
