Cosette Bonjour
Always an artist at heart, it wasn't until a plein-air painting trip in Tuscany that she experienced the sheer joy of painting outdoors. At the time, she was enmeshed in a career in Graphics Arts, working in Manhattan, NYC as a color and retouching expert for the magazine industry. After a twenty year career, she realized that she needed to be painting full time.
The same time period introduced a spiritual path unfolding in an intensive yoga apprenticeship. The concept of integrating life spiritually and artistically began to evolve.
The move to Hawaii came in 2001 where her immersion in painting

“Nature gives freely all of the information necessary for the artist. For me, there is a spiritual and emotional bond that is transferred to the canvas. Bringing in the quality of light, the contrasts of the darks and using dreamlike colors are some of the methods I use to transmit these feelings.”
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was educated on the east coast with a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design, Tyler School of Art for metalsmithing, the Art Students League in NYC, landscape painting studies extensively in Tuscany, and attended the Kyoto School for Art and Design for Japanese Garden Design.
Her work is in numerous private collections, the Honolulu Academy of the Arts, and is currently exhibiting at the Arthur Johnsen Gallery in Hilo, Hawaii.
