 Chris Brayton
I grew up in a small town in Michigan, and have lived there and in Minnesota for most of my life. To escape the cold midwest, my husband Tom and I made the move to Lahaina, Maui in 1998. We live on Front Street in a home that was built in 1927, and enjoy the history of "old Lahaina".
Inspired by the beauty of Maui, I started painting in 2002. I enjoy going out with the Plein Air Painters of Maui to the far reaches of the island, and the group's camaraderie encourages me to keep growing as a painter.
We spend time on our boat in the summer, up in the Gulf Islands off the west coast of Canada. Every anchorage is a another beautiful painting, and it's challenging to have different light and subjects to recreate on canvas. I hope you enjoy my work!
